The Road to Nowhere

Know not I a destination

Know not I the direction

All that I know is 

It is a road to nowhere

Sometimes we encounter certain situations, wherein we do not know what is in store ahead. The road ahead is dark. All possible doors seem closed. Yet we do not have a choice. The journey must continue.

I am sure that all of us have encountered such moments. You feel lost. There is a lump in your throat. You try to hide away your moist eyes. We do this as we fee that the show must go on. When I have encountered such moments, I have always felt scared at dusk and the night ahead. As if they were out to strangulate me.

This picture is of a rather happy moment. But I was not in it mentally. We were on our way to celebrate the company’s Annual Meet. The event was sometime in the middle of 2018. The venue was a beautiful resort in the outskirts of Bangalore. Seated in the front seat of an SUV, we were driving to the resort. The journey required us to travel through three kilometres of a barren forest. I remained distracted, most of the time. Suddenly the SUV hit a small ditch on the road. That had a good knocking effect on my mind. I came out of my thoughts. At that very moment, I saw the scene ahead, which I share here.

It was the road to nowhere. My mind was going nowhere too.
