Tonight and every night I shall be by your side

 Lighting up your path

 Not letting you falter

Not letting you waver

At every  barricade you encounter

For, I believe You have miles, yet to conquer

This photograph shared with me by my co-contributor Ms Epsita caught my eye for its serenity. The magic of this photograph is the lighting. Also, the picture is balanced well, with the fence in the foreground and the moon behind.

This picture is at a railway crossing, gives you a feel that this Celestial body, is watching to ensure that you cross smoothly. Whether a railway crossing or any other, one is very lucky if we can have a friend, a family member or a guide around us. A true well-wisher will stand for us through our good times and bad. They are the ones who give us their time and also, make us aware of our pitfalls ahead.

In this picture, the celestial body in the sky above is that friend, well-wisher and guide. Here the distance is of no concern. The moon is the guiding light, on that particular night. Earlier on, when we had the joint family system, we had every requirement built into it. The need for caring parents, grandparents, friends were all there for us. Today with the change in times and the family set-up, we are bereft of such a support system and are mentally more isolated. The pace of life today barely leaves any room for us to give one another some extra time. This lack of time has resulted in so many lives going awry all over the world, which is very unfortunate.

It is so important to have a support network, whether they are near or far. I feel that if we don’t have one, we should create one for ourselves. Be it writing your thoughts in a diary assuming it to be a living entity. An entity which has all the time to listen, but never talks back. Over some time, you develop a connect, which helps you open up with your innermost thoughts and also open new doors. The very doors which you missed earlier because your thoughts were clouded. The same holds with painting or photography. What is important is to break that loneliness and create your support system.

Photography and writing have helped me break my solitude (at least to some extent). I have become a calmer person. I am happy that by adopting these changes myself, I have been able to help others, whose lives would have gone awry otherwise.

It is in our hands I guess, to create our own Guardian Angels
