In the Pursuit of Happiness…or is it?

Who cares!!. We are still running like machines, day in and day out. We have no time for the simple pleasures of life. A cup of coffee with the elders of the house is a waste of time. We do not even remember when we last enjoyed the sunrise early in the morning. We have forgotten to sit and read a book. Writing a letter to a loved one is outdated. Today is the world of the Whatsapp and the WeChat.

       We are more busy thinking about our next car, our second flat or for that matter, our next promotion. We are running towards achieving that. The running does not stop there. We continue to run again, to meet the responsibilities that come with the achievements. We also aim higher, then run again. The running never stops until life comes to a full stop.

                I had taken this picture atop a pedestrian walkway. The walkway was over a busy interstate highway. Disturbed at the incessant honking, the glittering lights I stood still for a moment. I then wondered, where are we heading? Man has indeed become a machine now. Is this happiness?
