As I walked with the setting sun as a companion

You flew right past to your vantage point

Your beauty caught my eye and

I tiptoed closer to meet you

But you were in your world

As if saying-

Hey!! I am concentrating

This picture was one of the first using my DSLR camera. Looking back I realize that it was a good twelve years back. The Sankey Tank (13.01°N 77.57°E), has been one of the best open spaces in the north of Bangalore. It is also every photographer’s learning ground on the north side of Bangalore.

So here I was, with my new camera in tow, looking around for something that caught my eye. So, as if on cue, suddenly something flew past very close to me. A little taken aback, I stopped walking momentarily, trying to figure out what it was. Fifteen feet ahead of me, there was this beautiful bird which had just perched on the branch. It became my first subject of that evening’s shoot. Once that was done, I  tiptoed ahead for a closer look. The bird continued to look intently at the water, completely oblivious to my approach. I then enthusiastically tried to take another picture and disturbed it in the process. I think getting irritated, it suddenly flew further away.

Though that was disappointing, I was glad that at least, I had got his picture.
