Who art thou?

A mask that moves

Absolute magic, from the Creator himself

Rummaging through my photo collection, I chanced upon this picture that was probably taken a year or two ago. Usually, I prefer to go out on morning walks to the park, without an accompanying mobile phone. These pocket-size gizmos are a big deterrent to the early morning peace according to me.

On this particular day, I had it on me for some reason. After completing a few rounds of brisk walking, when my pace was slowing down, I suddenly noticed this beauty. Kneeling close, I just watched in amazement, the masterstrokes of the Creator. If for a moment, we do not notice the legs and the head of the insect, you could easily say that it was a tribal mask of some kind, placed upside down. Similar masks are seen in parts of  Africa, South America and also aboriginal Australia. Is this how our ancestors, got their inspiration?  I wonder time and again.

From that day on, my mobile  phone has always been my companion during my walks. You never know, what surprises are thrown at you.
