Sometime, towards the end of 2014, there was an opportunity to travel to Sikkim in the north east of India. Sikkim is a state sharing it borders with Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan. Statistics apart, this state is probably the next best place to paradise.

I remember, we reached Gangtok from Majithar, towards the latter part of the day . In winter, as the days are shorter and nights longer, nothing much was visible from the window of my room that evening. However, next morning as I was woken up by the sunlight streaming into the room, this very image was in front of me. The great Mt.Kanchenjungha , was right out my window. As if I could touch it with my own hands, here stood this majestic mountain, bathed in the morning sun. I couldn't have asked for more. Mother Nature, had given me the best gift, on my very first morning in  Gangtok.
